Moon Exchange
Can You Sell the Cards You Discover in Moonfall?
Yes. Cards you discover in the Moon Foundry can be sold to other players on the Moon Exchange for Stardust. Here is how that economy works.
Yes. Cards that come out of the Moon Foundry can be listed on the Moon Exchange, the market between Moonfall players, and sold for Stardust. The Stardust you get back can pay for your next discoveries. One rule shapes this whole economy: a buyer learns the recipe of the card they buy.
The loop
- Discover a card. Fuse two of your creature cards in the Moon Foundry; if you are the first to fuse that pair, the new card carries your name as its first discoverer.
- Craft copies of it from your Collection.
- List copies on the Moon Exchange at a price you choose.
- Spend the Stardust on new recipes, and start again.
What you can sell
Only Characters that came out of the Moon Foundry can be listed. Base cards and cards from packs cannot, and neither can spells. If you have not discovered a card yet, what is a sandbox card game? explains where new cards come from.
When the Moon Exchange opens
Buying and selling both open once you have won ten matches. Only matches decided on the board count: a forfeit, a disconnect or the tutorial does not. Until then, you can browse what other players are selling, and the Moon Exchange tab shows how many wins you still need.
Prices and the fee
You set the price of each copy. Listed copies go into escrow, buyers can take any number of them, and each completed purchase pays you the price minus the Exchange fee: 5% today. The listing form shows the fee before you confirm.
What a buyer learns
A listing shows the card: its name, its painting and its text. It does not show which two cards it comes from. But buying a Moon Foundry card teaches the buyer that card's recipe, in the same purchase. From then on, the buyer can craft copies too, and sell them.
A recipe can also travel another way: any player who fuses the same pair discovers it on their own. Buying a card teaches only that card's recipe; the recipes of its parents stay hidden.
Selling your last copy
You can sell every copy you have. The recipe stays yours: the card remains in your Collection, greyed out, and you can craft more whenever you like.
Costs to keep in mind
Discovering a recipe costs Stardust, and so does every copy you craft. The Moon Foundry and your Collection show the current price before you spend; at the time of writing, a discovery costs 50 Stardust and a copy costs 10. Stardust comes from the Moon Store and from your sales on the Moon Exchange.
The Moon Foundry guide explains how a fusion is designed, and the collector's guide covers packs, Stellar cards and the rest of your collection. Ready to discover a card worth selling? Open Moonfall.
