What Happens When You Fuse a Horse and a Log in Moonfall?

In First Night, Mirebark Charger, a horse of bark and roots, is fused with Enchanted Log, and the result is a Trojan Horse. The film is told by the new card itself, from the moment it does not exist yet to its first match and its first listing on the Moon Exchange.

Two cards become one

Both parents are Classic cards. Mirebark Charger is “a hulking steed of twisted bark and blackened roots”. Enchanted Log is “a mundane log with a faint magical aura” that “seems to contain dormant potential for transformation”. In the Moon Foundry, the AI card designer read the pair as one idea and wrote a new card: Trojan Horse, 3 mana, “a towering equine effigy assembled from timber and dormant sorcery”.

Somebody picks its face

The game painted four versions of the Trojan Horse, and its discoverer picked one. From then on, that is how the card looks to everyone.

Its first match

In its first match, the Trojan Horse is commanded, and the AI Game Master offers three moves: open the wooden belly, crush it beneath timber, or spill the hidden cargo. The ruling that follows reads: “Open the gates,” Sylva commands. Trojan Horse splits its timber belly wide, unleashing a torrent of dormant sorcery that obliterates Thorn Guard, though sharp briars deeply splinter its wooden frame.

A name on the card, and a price

The card carries its discoverer's name. Then it goes on the Moon Exchange at a price its discoverer chose, and other players can buy it. Can you sell the cards you discover? explains that economy.
